Thurs., April 1, 2010, NEW YORK – The Jeep® brand gave five “Tweet-to-Win” contestants from across the country a trip to the New York International Auto Show to compete in the Jeep Wrangler Islander Tiki Hunt contest today. Sand flew for 23 minutes as the five contestants dug in a giant sandbox to find the golden Jeep Tiki. Joel Lounds, of Bonita Springs, FL, was the first person to find the golden Jeep Tiki and won the all-new 2010 Jeep Wrangler Islander. Today, the Jeep brand announced the Jeep Wrangler Islander Tiki Hunt contest would be expanded nationally with three Jeep Tikis hidden around the country for consumers to find.
