He rudely throws the keys far from where she’s standing. She takes off and Asuncion comes in. Carmelo tells her Tere’s self-centered, and Asuncion says whatever Tere’s shortcomings, selfishness isn’t one of them. Look how nice she is to Blanca. Carmelo says he doesn’t give a rat’s patoot about Blanca. Asuncion tells him that people are gossiping about her and her uncle the padre and they even had a midnight torch parade to the church, led by Rita. Really? says Carmelo, perking up.
