Seeing Red
The trip originated when Ped, who is from Wilmington, Delaware (I know! I have a yankee friend!) and is a die-hard Phillies fan wanted to go to a couple of games. I know nothing about baseball other than it goes on for too long but since I had not been to Minute Maid Park, I decided to go. Also a friend was visiting from out of town so I would get to see her and her family. So off we went, stopping along the way every time we saw a potential Kodak moment. One of my favorite things about bluebonnet season is seeing so many people pulling off the highways to take pictures. Some come very well-prepared with their children dressed in dressy and uncomfortable outfits - one family even brought a little chair so their poor little girl could pose among the wildflowers - who knows, she may have been one of those awful pageant kids! There are even adults posing for bluebonnet portraits - if you're not from Texas you just can't imagine! It's really so cheesy but since I was forced to do the same thing as a child, it's sort of like comfort food to see everyone's enthusiasm.
And since I don't have children....
