Had the weirdest dream last night. I beat up the same guy twice and then we became friends over a shared fondness for fast cars. He looked like the kid I traded quarters for a dollar for the bus fare this weekend (the inverse proportion between high tech and high speed never fails to amaze me). The cars can be explained by the fact that Father and I stopped by the international auto show before doing our usual McDonald's & musical Saturday; the auto show has become progressively more disappointing since the first time I went. Only three Aston Martins and no sign of a Maserati or the Holy Grail, a Spyker; the Benz AMGs and antique Buicks and Packards barely made the entrance fee worthwhile. Although Father grumbled about the Maybach not being there, he was wrong about it being the top line, though maybe he meant for a sedan. The MacLaren in my opinion is still the hottest car on the market and I'd rather have that than a house any day. But I digress. So the point of bringing up this dream is to grumble about how some people have erotic dreams and I have dreams about making friends. I've never been one to pay attention to my dreams but I'm starting to get worried if maybe this one's supposed to mean something. We talked about some more serious matters and it really bugs me that I can't help out but unfortunately, I'm not planning on moving back to NY anytime soon. I will always wonder if I made a huge mistake by moving back to NY after college because until then, my life's been about moving outward, going someplace different. And now I may be repeating that error but the chance to reconnect with friends was too good of an opportunity to pass up and anyway, I can consider moving somewhere else once I'm done with this program. At least that's what I tell myself despite having made decisions that refute that statement.
